  About Lidrosh 

Lidrosh.com is an affiliate of the Lidrosh Institute of Jewish Education, an independent, non-profit entity, founded with the goal of making Torah available free of charge to every Jew. Each year, through it’s numerous classes, lectures, private study sessions, and retreats, Lidrosh reaches thousands of Jews from all walks of life, in all corners of the world The heartbeat of our institution is Rabbi Elazar Meisels, our founding director and lead educator. Lidrosh offers classes to Jews of all scholarship levels in a wide variety of locations. The lectures cover a vast assortment of topics including Talmud, Halachah, Parshah, Philosophy, Spiritual Growth, Holidays, Relationships, Judaism and Modern Society etc. In order to make the information available to the greatest number of people, every lecture is professionally recorded and edited and we’re making them all available to you free of charge, so that you too, can partake of these inspiring and informative lectures.

Each lecture is accompanied by a summary of the lecture’s main ideas, and information to help you identify the scholarship level of the ideal listener. Some of our lectures are aimed at total beginners and others are meant for advanced scholars. Of course, our classifications are broad generalities and you are advised to sample a lecture even if it appears below or above your knowledge level. In a unique and innovative feature found only on Lidrosh.com, we also invite you to comment on each lecture and to submit your questions to our editors. We will make every effort to respond where appropriate so that others can benefit from your questions and comments.

  Rabbi Elazar Meisels 

A native New Yorker, Rabbi Elazar Meisels studied at the Telshe Rabbinical College in Chicago, Mir Talmudical Institute in Jerusalem, and the Lakewood Kollel in Detroit. During his time as a member of the Detroit Kollel, he was active in community outreach, and in 1999 he left the Kollel to pursue his dream of opening a Torah center that would reach out to all Jews. Since its inception in 1999, Rabbi Meisels has delivered thousands of Torah lectures to advanced scholars, laymen, and newcomers to Judaism. He has lectured on college campuses, congregations, seminaries, hotels, yeshivos, and private offices worldwide on topics of Halachah, Hashkafah, Philosophy, Jewish Thought, Mysticism, Spirituality, Talmud, Chumash, and Relationships. His knowledge, passion, and humor, coupled with the ability to simplify the most complex topics have attracted thousands to his lectures.

In 2009, Rabbi Meisels relocated his family and the Lidrosh Institute to Brooklyn NY, where he is also the Dean of Sara Schenirer Institutions and Seminar Yerushalayim in Israel.
